Hi

I've an 8600gt which was working fine. I just started my pc today and no display. First I thought it could be the monitor but after using the onboard adapter the monitor works fine.

But whenever I try to use the card, I don't get any display at all. Not even dos one.

I've tested the card on my friend's pc and it works fine.

Any ideas how can this be resolved? :(

Check the BIOS.

There should be an option in the video to select the video output automatically. That might fix it...

I think that in BIOS, the 8600GT is not selected as the default graphic card and thus it cant display anything in the monitor. Boot from the onboard graphic card and then select the 8600GT as the display adapter, save the settings and reboot. You should be done by then.

You didn't recently toy around with OCing did you, if the bios change isn't helping?

If so tell us, it'll help us solve the problem quicker.

Else, follow the bios instructions.

Do tell us of your PSU and how long have you been using this config.

sorry for the late reply.

I've using a standard 400 watts zebronics PSU (m getting a new one Corsair 500 Watts soon) and been using the card for more than an year with no problems what so ever.

I've tried the bios thing and changed the setting to use PCE instead of onboard and then tried the card. There seems to be some error beeps when I do that.(1 long ,2 short). :(

I think the card is faulty. Time to hit the hardware market.. :(

Thanks for everything guys.
