Right off the assembly line
Ur motherboard doesn't support DDR2 or sata2. It only supports DDR 400Mhz ram & sata1.Dual channel mode is such a mode that if 2 identical ram modules r installed in same type of DIMM sockets (say DIMM0) then the data bandwith would be double(theoritically)for the ram. Say if u have 2 256mb 400Mhz memory modules then u may use those in 800Mhz.Remember dual channel mode only works if two identical ram is installed in dual channel config.u should read this pdf file=>ftp://download.intel.com/design/motherbd/av/C6860002.pdf

dual memory mode simply means that u have two identical ram slots..
the people in digit forum often speak abt da fact that using two 128 rams is better than a single 256 ram....(whatever that means!)
and yes the 915 gv doesn't support ddr2 and sata 2
