Help!cannot connect my phone!

I have a nokia 6300 & nokia pc suite v7.0. When i try to connect my phone using usb cable connection, windows shows found new hardware-nokia 6300 usb phone parent & then after sometime there is an error message saying- "windows cannot install this device. There was an error during installation.
Fatal error during installation" it doesnot give any more details about the error. I have to click on finish & my phone never gets connected. I've tried changing usb cables, reinstalled pc suite several times, restarted phone & pc but the problem remains. My usb media player, usb mouse & usb pen drives are working perfectly.i've tried disabling antivirus but could not connect. What should i do?

There could be previously half installed drivers..

remove all nokia software including drivers..
go to nokia website, then choose the correct usb cable driver(Model No) and suite then download and install it ..
it should solve ur problem.

i faced this same damn problem few days back wen i upgraded my pc suite n to my surprise i was also getting this error vch u r gettin n i tried all sorts of things from removing pc suite, nokia connecting drivers n etc but nothin worked even i tried re-installing d previous pc suite but it was all useless n then at last i restored my pc to earlier state n evrythng was fine but i really wanted to try d newer pc suite that's 7.0.9.2 so i decided to format my pc n re-install d windows but this time vth sp3[earlier i was on sp2] n this time it worked n its still working n d new version of pc suite is really fast n syncs vry well...

Ya u should try removing every component of pcsuite from control panel and then restart and then reinstall the pc suite...!!if this doesnt help then u should try reinstalling windows....and try using the back usb ports instead of the front usb ports...!!
