Help buying an entry level laptop

I am looking for a basic laptop. Will be using it for official work, mostly on MS office.
It should be wi-fi enabled (are all laptops enabled these days?). My hostel in Panjab University has wi-fi at 8 mbps.

It should have a good HDD though, will be storing lots of movies and music!
Battery backup is a plus, but not much of a concern.

What kind of config will be fit for this?
Is 15k-20k enough for this?

I guess something like this will suit you Acer eMachine e725 you can get laptop of similar config from Lenovo or samsung in around same price I guess below 25K

when buying the laptop do not worry about HDD, make sure you do not buy models with windows pre-installed with them. Your best shot is FreeDOS and Linux models
Samsung NP-R528
Lenovo models are named G450 and G550 series.

Atom should be avoided unless OP is looking for large battery life but no performance
