1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans:if can be done without an after market cooler

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: linux (ubuntu or mint or fedora),win 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: have an hdd already

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:no

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:keyboard,hdd,mouse,monitor,optical drive(already have)

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:next week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:no ,but have enough hardware knowledge will assemble myself

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: jaipur will buy locally

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:my old rig is totally down so i want to buy a temp system till ivy:p bridge,z77:p,kepler:cool:(with some reviews)come, i have an old 80gb drive from the old rig so i will use that so please tell me a motherboard with ide output(maybe 2 for optical drive also ) .:)):)):)):)):))

Get a new mobo and a new 250 GB HDD. you will have to look for IDE to SATA convertor on Ebay.

Get a new mobo and a new 250 GB HDD. you will have to look for IDE to SATA convertor on Ebay.

i don't want hdd now since i have an old 80gb which i will use and also a 500gb external for storage and also an ide dvd drive so can you eliminate the hdd and optical drive and give a more powerful proccesor

those cheap ide/sata converters rarely work.better get a 3 port sata 1 port ide pci card for ~360 but booting from pci card is not a simple process & depends very often on mobo.also forget about using your ide optical drive with such converters(including pci card i mentioned)because optical drives need ATAPI support while most commonly available pci cards(converters too if they work)have ATA support which is good for hard disks but not for optical drives.

i don't know of any widely popular modern mobo which comes with an ide port.either buy a old/not so popular mobo(if you can find one) or buy a new sata dvd drive(~900) & a new sata hdd(cheapest 250gb ~3400).
