HDD undetected

Guys, I am getting a screen that flashes for a second or two and displays 'No Hard Drive detected' and something else that I am unable to read. This happens after flashing of ASUS logo(BIOS Screen) and before booting of windows. So, in BIOS I disabled the option to show show error meassage and it doesnt flash anymore but if I enable the option this error screen flashes again. HDD is detcted in BIOS and OS and I dont face any problems due to HDD.
Recently (yesterday and today) I decided to test cracking my user password using 'OPH Crack Live CD' and 'Offline NT Password & Registry Editor'. OPH crack just went blank after after some lines of codes and the later just couldn't detect my HDD. Both of 'em worked fine on my bro's laptop and on my friend's PC and were successful cracking password.

Guys help me out with this problem. Please.

And yes, I am facing this problem from the day I assembled my rig. But didn't give it any importance as I didn't face any problem in detecting and accessing my HDD in BIOS and OS. I thought its some fault in mobo. But the same problem is still there after replacing my old P8H67-M EVO with P8H77-M PRO. I was suing my HDD with SATA6Gbps cable on SATA3 port. I cross checked it with SATA2 cable on SATA2 port but still the problem exists.

BMG ftw!!
1. Reset BIOS.
2. If the problem continues even after resetting BIOS, then it is HDD which is gone. Send it for RMA.

1. I dont think resetting BIOS will do anything coz I was facing this problem with my older H67 board and now on this H77 board too.
2. RMA would be my last option. I have many useful data in it.

Would be really helpful if I get any solution other than RMA.

Then the best thing you can do is:
1. Use any linux live CD and see whether it can detect the HDD or not.
If it can't detect HDD, then:
1. Go to BIOS and enable hot-swap option for the sata port where you are connecting the HDD.
2. Shut down your PC.
3. Disconnect HDD from the SATA cable.
4. Start up your PC with linux live CD
5. After complete bootup, add the HDD to the system.
6. You will see some error message if the HDD has gone bad. If you can see no message, no HDD mount, then you can do nothing other than sending the HDD for RMA.

About recovering data: if you have precious data, which don't you run raid0?

Doesn't help. I was using Ubuntu 9.04 live CD. While booting from disc, Ubuntu couldn't detect my HDD.
Have taken pic, will upload tonight.
Till then any other help would be greatly accepted.
