HDD not shown - Linux Mint Live CD

Recently just to explore Linux Mint 12, I created its live cd and booted into Linux directly from the CD (i.e. no hard drive install). While it loads and runs properly, it somehow does not show my HDD in the file system. I wonder if there’s something wrong. I would still expect the drive and partitions to get mapped in Linux though its run as live cd. Pl. help /suggest. Thx.

your drive file systems are different like FAT32 or NTFS and linux can not read such partitions.
or wait until someone elaborate this.

I don't think that the linux cannot run through the NTFS and FAT!! Ubuntu recognises these FileSystem in my computer and they even provide our drives to be formatted with NTFS if you wish!! I have done it in Ubuntu 13.04. This issue may be something else.... But in other cases,if you have a dual boot the Linux Partition will not be visible if you have a dual boot setup. That is, you won't see the linux partition at all if you are using windows in a dual boot :)
