That means you have another HD and this Seagate is the second HD.
You can use DiskWizard Starter Edition (Bootable) or DiskWizard for Windows( to add
a second drive in a System already running Windows). If your OS is Windows XP try
installing 'DiskWizard for Windows'. Get them both from here:

Yes,this is my 2nd HDD.1st one is an EIDE HDD,not a SATA HDD.
I have tried DiskWizard already but to no avail.
My mBoard is---Asus A7V8X-LA (Kelut)
And about that floppy solution, the problem is that my floppy drive does not format any floppy disk.It gives an error message-
"Windows was unable to complete the format".
I got a friend's working floppy drive,but again,the error message crops up.
I then got a new floppy disk, but again the same problem.

P.S.
I think we dont need to install RAID drivers from a floppy if we r installing only one SATA HDD.We have to do that when we r installing more than 1 SATA HDD.In my case, its 1 EIDE and 1 SATA drive.
Correct me if I am wrong.

If there r any more helpful techies around here, then plzzzz. help me solve this problem.

go to

control panel / admin tools / computer management / storage / disk management

is the new HDD listed in Disk management ? If it is then you need to format the HDD for it to work in XP. In Disk Management right click on the new HDD and select Format.

No,there isnt any new HDD in Com. management.
We have to do this if XP RECOGNISES the SATA HDD.Whats the point in doing that if XP hasnt found any new hardware.

try a linux live cd to see if the hdd is working alright... may be the prob is not in the software but some hardware conflict.
