Right off the assembly line
A seagate 160 SATA HDD on a GA 8I945GZME-RH with 512 MB DDR 2 RAM, refuses to boot. "error loading operating system" is the message. No cable fault. Drive with 4 partitions were visible when booting from Bart PE CD the first time, so ran a seatools "long test" which found errors on HDD and repaired them. rebooted into OS and the "error loading operating system" message reappears. The next time sea tools "long test" also fails. Tried a "fdisk" drive now not visible, also tried "dm/m/x" partions visible but cannot delete or recreate (NTFS), also tried "mbrfix /drive 0 fixmbr" same problem, drive not found. Tried booting using XPsp2 CD Initial file copying went well, but after "starting windows" message, drive not found, the drive is seen in BIOS as ST3160????. Reconnected the drive in all four SATA ports, but no luck. What to do HDD has a lot of my memorable photos about 40 GB of them.

Broken In
Put on another HD and take backup of data using Acronis Disk Director. You can also try attaching ur hd to another pc and then taking the backup.
