Hard Drive and Graphics Card.

I am having compaq presario SR1030IL.And I think it supports(not sure no manual is there) IDE HDDs and AGP card slot.I want to upgrade my Hard drive capacity by adding another HDD and also want to add a graphics card.

My question are::

1>>> If later I upgrade my mobo,then my IDE HDDs will be supported or not.Can I now buy SATA HDD to run on IDE interface(if possible).

2>>>I think my mobo doesn't support PCI or PCI-e card.So now if I buy a AGP card then would it be compatible later on when I upgared muy mobo.

Please suggest me best graphics card in the range upto Rs 3000 extendable to Rs. 3500 or any other good card in lower range.(Tv out would be prefarable).

Yes the later mobo will support IDE disks unless it doesnt have any IDE controller and has only a Sata one. U cant use sata on IDE. Dunno SATA controllers r available in the market.

If it has an AGP slot then it will support an AGP card. But make sure wether is supports a 4x or 8x card. PCI-e is a relatively latest technology and hence am not sure wether ur pc might b having it. When u upgrade ur mobo, if the mobo has an AGP slot it will work or else no chance

hey man those r the slots for the internal modem and the lan card .............................

The slots u have circled r PCI slots or known as expansion slots. They cant b used for Graphics cards. U get PCI display cards. But they r phased out and they dont give much of a good display so dont go into them. Overhaul ur machine if u want to use a gfx card.

Since u got a branded machine I think u shudnt do anything to it. Coz everything is cramped inside. And hence buy a new machine than tinkering with it.

Does Graphics card need different PCI slots other than the pic.So I cant even attach a TV tuner card?? Right!!

Can I get Sata To USB converter in India.Does it will reduce the performance of the Hard disk.

I think you can attach a TV Tuner ofcourse, but not a graphic card, that'd be dumb to do. And no, if you upgrade later, your AGP's gonna be dead meat :]
