hello Tech geeks,

I m facing crucial problem that i have a two machine one is Dell and Other is Locally assembled PCs. very recently my dell PC got crash and all my importants documents are inside the Dell machines. now my problem is that i want to retrieve the important datas from the hard disk of crash dell machines by connecting to locally assembled machines. some of my fren told me that if i connect the hard disk of difeerent motherboard it will further crash either hard disk or Motherboard. as i am novice about hardware so i want to seek suggestion from u all. whether my fren are true or false. please suggest me urgently as i have to retrieve the datas and present to my boss.
ur suggestion is highly appreciated.

if ur dell has crashed then put the dell hdd as a slave in the other pc and retreive the data.
the worst that could hv happened during the crash was may b the data in ur os partition might b lost, the other partitions should b safe.
no probs in doin that.

Connecting the Hard disk from a different system will not crash your system. You can try to recover your data by connecting it as a slave on a different system.
Many branded PC's have a limitation that your warranty will be void if you open the system yourself. So contact the Dell customer support before you proceed.
