Guide me to convert my existing config to a HTPC.

Motherboard - MSI 890GXM G65 (At the moment On board graphics only. No separate gpu)
Monitor - 20 inch Dell
Speakers -Creative 2.1
Hard Disk - 1 TB Western Digital
Dedicated PSU and Cabinet - Cooler Master Elite
RAM - 4GB
DVD Writer - LG 20X
Proccy - AMD Phenom X6 1055T


Kindly advice me regarding what upgradation is to be done apart from sound card to make this configuration as a HTPC.

Small Problem

Hi Guys....
Please help me with something. My brother's Logitech Z5500 is connected through Optical wire to his Sony TV which has PS3, XBOX 360 and PC connected through HDMI. Now I wanted to know if he connects his PS3 via component and/or Composit cables, will he get 5.1 sound or just stereo?? And is Coaxial digital or analog? Thanks. Any help will be greatly appreciated......
