looks like similar case.
but which one you purchased., prices are lowest now for some like crucial. Will there be more price drops?
Not sure prices will come down further or not but its significantly lower than when I bought Crucial MX500 1TB SATA for ₹9.5k few years back.

^CD enclosure isn't design for airflow and putting in SSD which generates heat will raise the temps of laptop. By how much, I dont know. But not advisable.
Actually it is using hdd using enclosure in cd/dvd slot in laptop which is not recommended because those slots are not made to hold a hdd securely & properly ventilated while ssd are much more tolerant to physical shocks & temps so they can work even there without much issue. Of course, using ssd in original hdd place is best option as long as the original hdd is going to be sold/used as an external.

I wanted to purchase 1tb crucial mx500 ssd earlier. So maybe it's 2.5" only.
Now 1 TB is available at = ₹5300
*www.amazon.in/dp/B078211KBBcan anyone suggest better newer SSD? 1 TB or 2 TB?
You won't get a better sata ssd than MX500 or samsung 870 evo(costlier) currently.

anyone tried or heard about ALKETRON - Fire Wizard Series?

WD SN570 is just under 5k now for 1TB, why bother with a small brand?

They have even lied on specs to mention PS5 support, but it doesn't. If they were providing a true PS5 supported Gen4 SSD at that price, might have been worth looking into.

Get Silicon Power A55 for a cheap SATA SSD.

thanks. someone saw it and asked but i had no idea so asked. i also suggested the same one. i might buy it this week for my system. someone even suggested buying a gen4 ssd now but my b450 pro4 doesn't support it.

You can also launch your own ssd brand by investing a few lakh rupees & get oem cheap ssd from China :)
thanks for the suggestion. i would prefer investing it somewhere else.

Right now Samsung 970 evo is 4.5k on prime day early sale with card offers. It is the top Gen3 SSD. Should be more than enough.

I can wait more..
I already did a surface test on a hard disk. Result shows 100% ok.
So I will postpone buying an SSD for now.
Price will drop more, read on Google. 13% more price drop.

Gone are the days when 970 evo was Tier A. Now with Gen4 & upcoming Gen5, its Tier will continue dropping. But doesn't change the fact that 970 evo is a top Gen3 drive.
970 Evo Plus is now mid tier ssd as per newmaxx ssd ter list which is what almost every other ssd tier list online uses as a base. Almost all current gen4 dramless ssd are slower than it in most practical usage scenarios except WD SN770.

thanks friend. it is non-returnable item though.

Doesn't seem as bad as FK's policy.

Delivery timeline is an issue though, showing 1-7 Aug.

What would be a good 2.5" SATA SSD to buy now?

I have a 4-5 years old hp laptop ( hp notebook 15 ay503tu ) that doesn't support NVME SSD.

Would Crucial MX500 or BX500 be better or should I buy something like a Samsung 870 evo?

MX500 & 870 evo are top tier along with WD Blue, but expensive as well. You can go for 1TB Silicon Power A55, performs better than BX500, close to performance of MX500 (just lacks DRAM) at BX500 like pricing. Check its reviews.
