It's not less than 5K.

You should increase your budget to go for a 8600GT based card. In your budget, you can easily buy a 8400GS based card, but the performance difference between the two is a lot.

So you should increase your budget and go for an 8600GT based card. Or you can spend more than that and go for a 9600GT card or a HD4860 card. Both these offer better performance than 8600GT.

Absolutely, leaves ur mind boggled doesn't it...cud u believe it the start of this year 8600GTS(just a bit slower than 4k priced 9500GT)was well around 10k!!!
