Graphic card Troubleshoot

I have recently bought a pc whose config is
Intel c2d E6750 2.66Ghz
250gb Hdd
Intel DG31PR motherboard

I have recently bought one graphic card Nvidia XFX 8600GT 512mb
When I Install this card on pci-E slot my system stop displaying output...

how to rectify this problem suggest some tips.

is ur monitor cable connected to the gfx card or the motherboard??connect it to the card...make sure the cables are connected tightly...also make sure tat the card is seated properly to the slot...remove the card and reseat it..push it untill u hear a click...also is the comp booting at all??does it make 3 beeps wen u switch it on??

I have tryed every thing is fine, when I unplug the graphic card then on board video displayed to my monitor but when I place my card the graphic card and the on board monitor connector stop responding and don't show me any display on monitor, I have tried this about 4 to 5 times....

Is there graphic card comatibality problem yet grapich card is ok I have try my graphic card to my friend pc it's working fine............
