got a prob with memory....HELP!

I've installed 2 sticks of 2gb ddr2 800mhz transcend ram on my asus p5k WS mobo with core2quad q9300.....i and installed windows vista ultimate 32bit.....when i check the ram in windows it shows only 3gb of ram, but i've installed 2x2 gb.....what shud i do now....i have even updated my bios(ver1004)....im totally confused.........here's my config....
core2quad q9300 2.5 ghz
Asus p5k WS mobo
2X2gb ddr2 800MHz transcend
WD 750gt sata 2 HDD
XFX 8800GT 512MB GDDR3
crysis is lagging with all high settings without AA......

Vista Ultimate 32bit will not detect more than 3-3.5GB of ram eventhough u hav 4GB of it installed cuz it can address a max of 4GB of memory address space which includes u gfx card's vram.
so to utilize the full 4GB of ram u need to install Vista 64bit or any 64bit OS.

at wat res ru running Crysis?
if its lagging try lowering a few settings.

Windows Vista (without SP1) has a problem displaying the total memory size if installed RAM is higher than 3GB. Please install Service Pack 1 to rectify this error.

^^^ even with SP1 installed,Vista will only show 4Gb or more of system mem is present but it wont use more than 3-3.5GB of ram.

me running crysis at 1440X900 and all settings "very high" except for AA....i've kept shaders to "high"......everybody thanx for the replies.....

somebody plz suggest me some gud games which wud run smooth on my config???

The problem is with your OS. 32 bit Windows derivatives have issues with handling more than 3GB to 3.5GB of RAM. Get either 64bit windows or get linux/bsd/solaris.

If I remember right, your Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate DVD ships with a 64bit installer. Give it a shot.

there r 2 was to enjoy 4GB or more of system mem.:
1>either install Windows Server 2003 (32 bit) or Srver 2008 (though i'm not sure whether this one supports 4GB)

2>shift to 64-bit version of any Windows.

The 32-bit OS supports a max of 3.5GB including everything which includes your graphics card memory too.
Now 512MB from your 8800GT, and 3GB from you 4GB memory adds up to 4GB.
