lol..i dont think. some one from ..google. went and took those pics..using a camera...they are all sattelite images !!!

i think google uses non copyrighted satellite pics.
they dont use single computer they use grid

ya wikimapia is far better than google earth, wikimapia is also powered by google ony, but it has even more details....i liked it.

Google earth compiles its globe from information recieved from Remote sensing satellites [or recon satellites].
these satellites use electromagnetic readiations like infrared waves, radio waves etc to sense the surface of the earth.
if they used optical means [cameras] all you would see would be clouds!
