Because no one is having that much bandwidth that they can afford to loose for seeing ads.

I haven't tried most of the listed ones but flashget gives me speed close to the maximum that my connection supports i.e. 2mbps. so i like it. the interface is also esy to use.
also people should have tried to tell why they like the software, that helps judge based on the pros and cons.

^^ Opera isnt a download manager, and any download manager would perform better than opera's. Its good for smaller files, and from filesharing sites but for large direct downloads, flashget is the best for utilizing the entire bandwidth to download the large files in short time.
