I installed gnome voice..but hangs at calibration...all speakers and mics and all...set to max...
The gnome voice site had same prob for another guy on gstreamer and the developers replied to try:
vivek@Gutsy:~$ gst-launch gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! vorbisenc ! oggmux ! filesink location=test.ogg
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
ERROR: Pipeline doesn't want to pause.
ERROR: from element /pipeline0/gconfaudiosrc0/bin0/alsasrc0: Could not open resource for writing.
Additional debug info:
gstalsasrc.c(600): gst_alsasrc_open (): /pipeline0/gconfaudiosrc0/bin0/alsasrc0:
Recording open error on device 'default': Invalid argument
Setting pipeline to NULL ...
FREEING pipeline ..
Whereas the guy replied that he can hear his own recordings...is something wrong with my mic settings?Earlier ekiga also didnt pick up my voice...mic works well in windows though..
