Gloss vs Matte Screen

Need a general purpose laptop. Irrespective of config would you suggest me a gloss screen or matte one? Most of the present models seems to have the former one.

^gloss looks better than matte...bcoz of shining feature.

but I will prefer Matte as in gloss fingerprints are visible & also reflects light

I think gloss are cheaper to make than matte. Gloss are also terrible for outdoor.

I absolutely hate glossy displays. You need a relatively dark environment to use it or else the gloss will reflect the light. A real pain in the *** when you have a window or light source behind you while working.

both are same price gloss are brighter and hv better display, matte are finger print proof and good for outdoor viewing

Most people like gloss. I too, but owning one makes you feel, when at some point of time, reflectiveness is too much. You actually have to set your eye-view to have a proper view of screen which is at times very irritating. But I'm yet to see any matte screen.

Most brands Business line up offer Matte screen. Except one thing i don't understand is Truebit technology, provided by Toshiba, which they is a fusion of both..@!!

But one thing for sure, glossy only attracts, but not productive.
