Bond, Desi Bond!
Mother board is Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9.

Has one PCI Express X16 slot, into which I inserted the 2600xt card.

In BIOS, the option is

"Enable when no PEG (P*i Express Graphi*s)" and "Always enable"

Selected "Enable when no PEG".

It's still using the onboard GPU instead of PCIe card.

This is really irritating.

Can some one please help me to resolve this issue.

can someone please provide a sol*tion for this problem.

I do see that the Graphics card's fan is rotating. when I connect monitor to PCIe card, monitor stays off. When I connect it to onboard VGA port, it comes up nicely.

first make sure dat the card is in working condition. If its a gud one but still even the fan doesnt spin, then make sure u have a 24 pin PSU connector from PSU to mobo.
If u use 20 pin on it, the GFX cards wont be detected properly.

And lastly, if the problem persists, go to mobo manufacturer's website and search for any latest bios update for the mobo.

the cards' fan is spinning.
updated motherboard BIOS too
there is no option in BIOS to completely disable onboard GPU. can either enable it or kee pit in "Enable when no PEG".

I will test this card in my friends HP workstation that has LCD monitor with direct DVI port.

I doubt if the DVI to VGA converter is the culprit here.

If the card doesn't work there also, run to the dealer.

So, Do you think that connecting my 15" CRT using the DVI-VGA converter could be the problem?u

BTW, the PSU's power supply connector is 24 pin. it's 400W SMPS. to make sure GFX get good power, I mored everything from writer to tv tuner card

only HDD, GFX card are connected to the board. but still :(

^^ drivers?? I think the BIOS itself is not recognising the card.

from the power on, nothing comes to the monitor. If I plug out the display cable and insert it into the onboard display port, I get the display, from BIOS to bootup.

I just couldn't understand if the problem is with motherboard or with the monitor.

Tested the same on HP XW4300 workstation and it runs fine without any issues.

checked with both a 19"CRT and 19" LCD. for both, I am able to see the full boot (from BIOS to windows boot up)

I suspect the problem could be either with motherboard or with my monitor.

^^ already done :(

no luck :(

wrote to gigabyte technical support. let's see what they say

At last, it's working. Took the motherboard to Gigabyte support center. Inside 10 minutes, it's fixed. Don't know how but yes.

Finally, peace of mind. :)
