U can use "Norton Ghost" or "Acronis True Image" softwares to make an image of ur windows.
Both r simple to use, just install them and u'll get options to create the image.

In the zone
when you run either software, select option: "make image of partition"
and select the partition on which your winXp is.
note: run "ccleaner" and delete temp files before making image of partition.
