Need suggestion for a General MS Office / Web Browsing PC for a friend

1. What is the purpose of the computer?

Ans: MS Office, heavy Web Browsing, Music (continuous in background), Video including untouched full hd bluray clips. rare light video editing like saving from one format to another, putting a watermark etc. No games.

2. What is your overall budget?

Ans: Minimum.

3. Planning to overclock?

Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?

Ans: Windows 7 / 8.1, will update to Windows 10

5. How much hard drive space is needed?

Ans: 1 TB (that looks cost effective)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor?

Ans: Already have 20inch but give options for 21/22/24 FHD

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?

Ans: Speakers

8. When are you planning to buy the system?

Ans: in a month (as soon as decided on final config).

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?

Ans: Yes to both.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Ans: Lucknow. local preferred. (open to buy from online also only if it is very good deal)

11. Anything else which you would like to say?

Ans: Kindly suggest UPS also. CPU decided on Intel i3 based (he has used only intel cpus and wants to use this for quite long as using his current one for some 8-9 years), RAM 8GB (he uses multiple tabs in chrome / firefox etc.). this will be used as simple home PC for long (may be 3-5 years).

keeping in mind all these requirements (and the expected duration of usage 3-5 years), is it ok to go with any AMD config? The system is Usually kept on for some 8-16 hours.

AMD FX has no upgrade path so its better to go with Intel.

I wonder why Hitachi HDD? Doesn't the preference is for WD Blue 1 TB option? Seems to be much popular choice and a difference of about Rs 700.

As for the requirement of a new FHD monitor, for my own search for best FHD monitor at around 10k (non glossy) I shortlisted these two monitors:
AOC 21.5 inch LED Backlit LCD - i2269Vwm Monitor : It's OOS, but if you can get it offline, that would be great. The looks is awesome.
LG 21.5 inch LED Backlit LCD - 22MP56HQ Monitor : It's seems to be a great monitor from LG. If not the above monitor, I would have purchased this one.

There is this monitor too: Samsung 22 inch LED Backlit LCD - LS22D390QS Monitor. It's fairly new monitor, but looks beautiful. Doesn't have many reviews, so that's a problem.

S2240l is very cool monitor. I myself bought it for a friend of mine. But the screen is highly glossy.
That's why in the first line I mentioned that I was looking for non glossy.

If you prefer glossy, then S2240l is still a good choice.

i am using in2020m (he is also using the same) which is glossy. most of the monitors i have used were glossy. so i think i should check it some where and then suggest. thanks buddy.

p.s. the vendor is going to cry as i think he has distributorship of dell and when i ask him to get aoc, he will first try to convince and when i am going to say no, then he will cry but he will get us what i want :D

Which monitor is more sexier & cool looking? Decide for your self!

Well, to me the first option i2269Wwm seems more sexy. It might be the pic. There seems to be no bezel in the former, while in the later there is a thick bezel. See bigger and real life pics:

After viewing the pics again, I am more sure that former looks better, since the later one seems as if monitor is inside a "frame". I hope I am able to explain what I see.
