Extra Items needed would be a good tablet for animation.
Also, I am a little confused between AMD R9 390 and GTX 970. It seems that AMD would have advantage in the future with DX12 coming up and on other hand the 970 is a trusted GPU easily available for as low as 23k (Cant find 390 anywhere).
Also, one more thing : ORIGINAL WINDOWS should be included. I have a tendency to hate piracy.

Is skylake worth the extra bucks? And, there is no tablet in the build. Maybe a bit less on motherboard and CPU. Also, I wont be needing 500 GB of SSD. 240 GB is fine.

I agree with [MENTION=105611]bssunilreddy[/MENTION]. As per your need, I‘d also recommend you to go with powerful configuration for the high graphic rig . If you are planning to play other games like COD3, GTA5 and etc, then go with the selected GPU and SSD. I believe WD Blue internal drive will fulfill your requirements. The WD Blue drive is use of normal computing, daily use drives, solid performance and budget drive. WD Blue HDD models are available from 250GB to 6TB.

Just a suggestion, for RAM up gradation, if you run 2 sticks of 1866 Mhz (8x2); you will be running memory in dual channel which will be a greater increase in performance than running a single stick in single channel.

Skylake is totally worth it and Its enough for gaming. If you require heavy rendering then higher number of cores cores help. SSD gives better gaming perfomance and speeds up boot and response of OS. If you are planning to have multiple games(more than 4) Installed at the same time you need a bigger SSD. finally, its upto your needs.

Excellent rig especially the beautiful looking monitor! The only gripe I have is with the monitor and PSU. With a graphics card so powerful you should go for a monitor with a native resolution of 2560x1440. Its powerful enough for it.

And you dont need such a high wattage power supply. The 980Ti is a damn efficient card as highlighted here - Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Power Consumption .The seasonic s12 520 will be fine. Unfortunately I cant find the modular version. You can use the saved up money to either get extended warranty or power surge protection or dust filters or good headphones.

I think you could also skip with the liquid cooling and go with air cooling. I am quite skeptical of liquid coolers. In case they leak they could take out many of your parts.

would you be interested in building an ITX build? THAT would be fun and would have more show off value

As for the OS, I would suggest to use windows 10 only for anything you cant do with linux mint. For some reason windows degrades much faster over time than linux mint in my experience. Plus linux gaming is getting more and more support from indies and big companies.
