1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: High-end gaming

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: dont want to spend more than 80k. but i can touch one lakh if config would be much better.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: nope.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 10.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Have multiple HDD's lying around. Would need decent SSD though.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Need to buy. thinking of 22-24" size and 1440p resolution. (i am ok with 1080p also if my budget doest permits for 1440p)

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I have nothing apart from 1TB-2TB HDD's.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: By the end of next month (Aug '16)

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:Built 2 systems.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Delhi. Open for local as well as online.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Is it okay to buy some components online with global delivery? Like Amazon US is selling 980Ti 6GB card in 40k (shipping and import tax included), but in india it costs around 60k.

You won't get any warranty tho, for the parts imported as warranty is a regional thing.

Also if u plan on spending about 40K for GPU, i would suggest 1070amp extreme ZOTAC, its a monster.
Couple it with a 1080p screen,like VG248qe, Gm2477.
You'll be good to go.
I don't think a 1080p gsync or a decent QHD screen would be possible in your budget.
So go with any of the above monitor and you'll enjoy the smoothness of super high almost stable refresh rates on most modern titles..

Also m sure more capable guys from the forum would help you get the entire rig setup.

Hope this helps.

No, 1070 amp ex, beats a reference 980Ti in most situations, and cheery on top it costs around 15-20K less.

980Ti is a thing of the past after Maxwell, unless you already possess a 980Ti, then it's not suitable to upgrade.

1070amp Extreme, is the best fitting GPU for your budget, until you go for the team red's RX 480X, which is like the mount Everest of overpricing in India.

bssunilreddy rig that he mentioned is pretty solid except the monitor.
Getting a 60fps monitor to play with 1070amp extreme is not suitable(rather injustise to all the horsepower that 1070has)
Cut yourself the budget of the HDD, SSD, K/B mouse combo.
That should save you around 10K.
Then go for the Lg 24GM77 monitor.
Costs around 20k.

Its an TN panel with 144hz 1ms specs.
You will be much more happy with faster gameplay rather than better colous or viewing angles.
As you are going to do mostly gaming IPS dont matter that much but frame rates do a lot.

Thank you for the replies!

UPDATE: I am going to buy the monitor first (probably will order today only).
shashank: Thank you for the advice. I am currently reviewing how 144Hz monitor is much better than a 60Hz one. Will decide accordingly.

Buying stuff one by one in a month or two would be better than shredding all at once!

ok..i went to multiple stores today and saw the performance of LG 24GM77. I would say its really good..but i didnt like it because its TN. the color reproduction and viewing angles are not good and not even comparable to IPS panels. I know it depends on personal taste though.

So, i have finally decided to go for an IPS panel, preferably 24". I am currently confused between LG 24MP88HM and Dell 24 Monitor – S2415H. Any suggestions?

If it's gaming that's you will be doing mostly on your PC i5 6600K should be more than enough.
Also the 75Hz LG display you choose is good.
Not quite the fuidity of 120-144Hz display but still no TN can match the color accracy of your IPS.
If you will be doing some multimedia content too on your monitor then the LG ips is a better buy.

Also don't go for the high cost 1070, liquid chilled ones etc etc. Go for the average 1070(amp maybe?).
Pascal had shown high overclocking potentials either way.

Yupp..apart from gaming, i would also be watching movies (bigger screen..right :) ) and so i didnt like the display quality of TN panel (though the performance was solid when i checked those in some local stores).
yupp, i am also thinking of getting an average card instead of very customized as i also think that it wont be required as per my usage.

Now i'll start looking for processor (starting from 6600k) and post in case of any updates..

Thanks a ton!
