5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: ssd for now, will expand in the future, I've got a few external hard drive's

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:

Ans: In two weeks

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Building myself for the first time

OP dont get SSD now. Its better to get a normal HDD and live with it till you save up big bucks for a better one. Get a better GPU which is far more important. Drop the SSD and go with GTX 970. However, it would still be difficult to squeeze a GTX 970 in this budget. Try to get it , increase budget if possible. It is very recommended. But If you plan to get a barebone PC for regular Updates then get a better CPU and a much worse GPU. Just a suggestion.

Hi dan4u,

I agree with nikhilsharma007nikx. As per your need, I‘d also recommend you to go with powerful configuration for the gaming rig . If you are not planning to play high fps games like COD, GTA5 and etc, then go with the selected GPU and SSD. I believe WD Blue internal drive will fulfill your requirements. The WD Blue drive is use of normal computing, daily use drives, solid performance and budget drive. WD Blue HDD models are available from 250GB to 1TB.

The following link describes the specifications for the WD Blue HDD.

WD Blue = Solid performance.

Just a suggestion, for RAM up gradation, if you run 2 sticks of 1866 Mhz (4x2); you will be running memory in dual channel which will be
a greater increase in performance than running a single stick in single channel.

Hope this information helps.

OK Thanks for that, I've decided to go the intel route came up with the following build

ProcessorIntel i5-4460Rs 13000
MotherboardMSI B85M-E45Rs 5198
Graphic cardMSI R9 380 4GBRs 20900
Power supplyCorsair VS550WRs 3089
CabinetCorsair carbide spec-01Rs 3700
Internal storageSandisk SSD plus 120GB+1TB Seagate HDD (pre-owned)Rs 3495
MonitorBenq EW2440LRs 9599
Keyboard/mouseCM Devastator ComboRs 2969
DVD DriveAsus 24D5MTRs 1050
MemoryCorsair Vengeance 2x4GBRs 3600
TotalRs 66,600

My only concern is the Graphic card, the difference between R9 380 AND GTX 960 is about Rs 3000

GTX 970 is a bit of a stretch, cheapest online price is 25k not sure about local prices. And I forgot to mention, I already own an External 1tb gofllex drive, I'll use that as an internal drive, I've got a ssd on my laptop now, can't think of using any computer without one :p

So this is the final build, getting most items via eBay and Snapdeal

I increased the budget by 10k, getting the GTX 970 instead of the R9 380, it comes with a free game so that's a pretty good deal. I need to add a UPS and a gamepad, sadly the XBONE controller wireless dongle isn't available yet in India. might have to get the 360 one.

Get the ga-b85m-d3h. Its a great value board and much better than MSI. I'm not sure but MSI guys give problems during claims.
And also try to get the Asus 970 gigabyte is fine If you can't . Also, get a much better case. That local one is gonna give you a lot of problems in the long run. Get the corsair spec-1 or 3.get more inputs in the PSU department.

I got the MSI one because it supports crossfire, but at the last minute I decided to get the 970 not the R9 380. And as per user reviews it seems to be a decent MB, what spooked me about Gigabyte MB was certain reviews said they don't give RMA if its bought online Amazon.in: Buy Gigabyte B85M-D3H Intel ATX Motherboard USB 3.0, SATA 3 Online at Low Prices in India | Gigabyte Reviews & Ratings

the asus 970 is another 3-4k, got the GA-970 using a coupon on ebay. and I was initially going for the corsair spec-01, but I'll be moving in a few months so I can't take the case with me. will get a better case then ;)

That's weird. I don't think that should be the problem. Your wish with the mobo then.
