Gaming Rig for 50-55k

i pwn joo!!
Hey,

i had originally intended to pick up a laptop, but seeing that a gaming laptop would be way beyond my budget, decided to reconsider a desktop.

i'm looking to pick up a new desktop, something which will run latest games at high settings , and also be viable to support games maybe 2 years down the line.

I'm mostly an MMORPG player (WoW, LOTRO etc) but also enjoy trying out new RPGs, FPS etc.

so i found this config on the forums,

Intel Core i5 760 @ 9.2k
Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 @ 6.4k
Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 2*2GB @ 2.9k
Sapphire HD6850 TOXIC @ 11.2k
Seagate 500GB 7200.12 @ 1.7k
LG 22X SATA DVD @ 0.9k
Corsair VX450W @ 3.5k
NZXT GAMMA @ 2k
Benq G2220HD @ 7.3k
Logitech MX518 @ 1.2k
Logitech KB-200 @ 0.4k
APC 800VA @ 3.5k
Altec Lansing VS2621 @ 1.6k

Few questions:

1. Would this be a viable option for me considering i wont be replacing it for atleast another 2-3 years. is there a higher version of the AMD processor i can get for around the same price?

2. Is the nividia GTX 460 card better than the one quoted above?

3. looking to go for a 21+ inch monitor instead of the benQ suggested. what would be a better alternative?

4. If i decide to go for a blue ray drive, how much extra will it cost me?

5. is 450W power supply sufficient? i showed this to a friend, he said i may need more.

looking forward to your replies

cheers.

will you overclock? if yes H67 is not for you. you need to look at P67. moreover first see reviews of these boards. many more from other brands will also be out.

H67 will not allow you to overclock the cpu. It will be restricted to ondie gpu overclock. Get the p67 or wait for upcoming z68. The latter will allow you to switch between discrete gpu and ondie one. It will also enable quicksync.

No need for a k processor because oromis won't overclock or we should say won't be able to overclock because of the h67 chipset. cpu overclocking is possible in p67 chipset and they are currently expensive.

Thats why jas metioned i5 2500 and not i5 2500k. If op want more performance, then he can opt for i7 2600 and not the k model.
