Gaming pc for 45k....

Ya, you are sure about the gaming performance...i3 2100 performs better than 955 in most of the cases. But still Phenom II X4 955 is a vaiable option because:-

1. In multi-threaded applications, Phenom II X4 955 performs better than i3 2100 because of its 4 Physical cores compared to the 4 logical cores of i3 2100.

2. Since Phenom II X4 955 is a Black Edition processor, it can be overclocked very easily to gain some more performance, both in gaming and applications, a feature missing in i3 2100. Even with the stock cooler, 955 can reach upto 3.6 GHz and euqal the gaming performance

3. Now you have mentioned that in games like crysis2, Battle Field Bad Company etc. 955 performs better. The reason being is all the current latest games are getting highly multi-core optimized and 955 gets an advantage because of its 4 cores. Expect all the upcoming games to be highly optimized for multi-core processors and Phenom II X4 has a slight benefit over i3 2100 over there.

BMG ftw!!
They are already at 12-13k level. Next drop will be only after the launch of next gen cards. As Kepler would be delayed compared to HD7000, expect to see the drop in nVIDIA cards first.

I think that delay is a bit intentional.

you read this in chip mag?

@jaskanwar
yes i read that in chip mag july 2011.

arrey those idiots dont know even the simple fact that amd cards are not made to render physx code. they use physx as a test. dont know why. maybe they are biased;-)

now you saw conclusion. but if you go through fps part there is a different story. lets make this transparent :-D

now you need to understand the fact that amd has designed the tessalator in their HD69** series keeping in mind normal tessellation.
you can read about this at anandtech article when 69** were launched.
but yeah nvidia needs to be given credit for their work on tessellation part (polymorph engines in fermi)

now 560 is more or less a 6870.

Now see this -

<30 FPS
very limited gameplay

30-40 FPS
average yet very playable

40-60 FPS
good gameplay

>60 FPS
best possible gameplay

So if a graphics card barely manages less than 30 FPS, then the game is not very playable, we want to avoid that at all cost.
With 30 FPS up-to roughly 40 FPS you'll be very able to play the game with perhaps a tiny stutter at certain graphically intensive parts. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Match the best possible resolution to this result and you'll have the best possible rendering quality versus resolution, hey you want both of them to be as high as possible.
When a graphics card is doing 60 FPS on average or higher then you can rest assured that the game will likely play extremely smoothly at every point in the game, turn on every possible in-game IQ setting.
Over 100 FPS? You either have a MONSTER graphics card or a very old game.

MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III Power Edition OC review

you will see that extreme tessellation renders fps that are just average. normal tessellation does the job.
