2080S can be fitted into the budget if you want max performance. 3700 offers nothing over 3600 if it's meant for gaming only. idk where youre getting that Ryzen 7 3700 would be needed for gaming though, i cant imagine games utilising 16 threads to make do, unless its games like Civilisation. 3600 is more than sufficient with 12 threads.
As I said earlier, check PS5 & XB Series X specs. They will dictate future game requirements. All current games are limited by PS4 & XB1 hardware.

Surely 8 cores are overkill now, but in 2-3 years, 3700X like performance will likely be recommended (again, not min req). It will be easier to just change GPU later down the line (after 3-4 years) rather than changing both CPU & GPU.

All above prices are taken from vedantcomputers, Kolkata since they dont charge payment gateway charges and offers free shipping to all parts of India.
Except for SSD capacity, the quote my friend got is actually better than that one. Moreover, he already has a good Zowie gaming mouse & Logitech G413 KB. He should be able to spare 5k for a UPS other than 1.1L for the rig. Will swap some parts like mobo & SSD from the initial quote, otherwise it is looking to stay the same. He got a quote of 40k for that same 2070S.

My friend shit the bed with parts. This is what he ordered from some seller in Kolkata. I earlier asked him to wait for a few days to weeks & visit SP Road. I don't know if the PC will be even delivered in Bangalore.

Mobo - AsRock X570 Steel Legend - 18.9k (at least not shitty MSI ones)

RAM - 2x8GB DDR4 3600MHz XPG D60 RGB - 10.2k

GPU - Inno3D 2070 Super Twin - 39k

SSD - Crucial BX500 480GB - 5k

He kind of got desperate due to lockdown. HE plans to replace GPU in 2 years.

Looks decent. BX500 is okay but it's DRAM-less. I can't comment on Inno3d's trustworthiness.

I don't trust anything outside Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac & Sapphire for GPUs.

Lockdown got the better of him, what else can I say. He was planning to buy it in late March. My initial recommendation was to wait till year-end for Ryzen 4700X & RTX 3070 as he already had a 1050Ti gaming laptop.

I think Kingston A400 is the fastest DRAM-less budget SSD. For 5k, its definitely not worth spending on BX500 or even A400.
WD Blue SN550 is the fastest/best dram-less ssd/nvme till now(mentioned on earlier page) & its 500gb model used to be available for just under 6k in Jan.
