gaming partition..

hi everyone,
i have purchased a new laptop with 500GB hard disk, i want to make a separate partition for installing games(i am planning to use it for installing games only!)
so i want to know that is this a good idea? bcoz i have heard that we should not install games in C Drive, that is why i am making separate partition for games.
will it improve game performance?
will it cause any damage to hard disk?(fragmentation etc)

Who told you that you should not install games in C drive. No need to make separate partition, just make the C: bigger so that you could install the numbers of games you play without any hassles.

Installing games on separate partitions/ OS drive, wont have a +ve/-ve effect on the game performance.
