Game crashed!!!Unbelievable.

I have a Compaq Presario laptop, with 1.2 Ghz,256,DDR Ram.I installed Metal Gear Solid, but on chosing to Play, the screen went black & the game crashed;I uninstalled & reinstalled, but the same thing happened.
How can a game so old,(2000), crash? Please help, since I really want to play this game.

run it in "compatibilty mode" (win 98/2000). then it might run.

How do I do it? The game is not opening at all.

right click on the game's .exe file > Properties > Goto the 'Compatibility' Tab> Run this program in compatibility mode for > Win98 / Me or Win 2000
