Frequent internet disconnection

I use MTNL triband 752 kbps unlimited plan with wifi connection. Modem model: 450TC1. I stay in navi mumbai. There is frequent disconnection of net after regular intervals. The four led (green) is on all the time, but my network symbol changes to local connection only. I am using windows vista 32. I have scanned the pc twice and got rid of viruses still the problem persists. What could be the possible reason for this problem?

in modem settings device info/status page check both snr values are above 15.also sometimes viruses can be very persistent so try with another system(laptop) for net access for a day to check if the problem is still there.

maybe something at MTNL's end
I can confirm this coz even i had this frequent disconnection problem from 1-4th April,then there was no internet for two days,after which the problem got fixed

yes, the problem was at MTNL's end.. nw net is working fine.
