well these are the lost chains of data that XP found during Scanning..so it converts them in to files like .000 , 001 etc...you can detele them safely....

uhmmm... the files are those lost clusters found normally when scandisk is done automatically.

It might b a file which was in use while the computer was switched off suddenly. It might b important files.

Most of the files we want are larger (in terms of 100kb or more). So see if u missed some files... try changin the extensions of the files *.000 to some well known extensions like zip,dat,doc,txt... and run them... u might find some really useful files u might have just missed... or directly open them using the respective sw... like media player, word, winzip...

There are chances of losing imp files if u were workin on them during abrupt powershutdowns or computer shutdowns... Then also go into the found.000 set...

So u better arrange these files w.r.t size and start openin them from the largest file first... esp those above 100kb... using 'Open With' with common applications like ms word, winzip, media player... Also try changing them to .exe and run them...

Definitely worth a try, baaki tumhari marzi...
