Firewire related Problem

I've been using different types of Sony handycam camcorders. I just bought the dcr hc 36, and the problem is that my firewire which I've been using and works fine with the other camcorders, cannot detect it. I'm using Win XP SP2. Ive had tried a lot of things, such as running the "regsvr32 %windir%\system32\qdv.dll" command, but windows still cannot detect the camcorder. Please help.

Install the camcorder pc drivers.

make sure U have intalled all the drivers n than chk for cable.
this is primary test.

I di, guys. The usb transfer worked just fine. Besides, I never had to install other drivers with the other camcorders. Windows does it all once i connected the cam to the firewire cable.
