i wont download vista till the sp1 is out
by the time the pirateers will make lots of craks i will be confused which one is a virus and which ones trojan
I hav to upgrade my pc( i need 85% in the 10th boards)

ms is xpctd to cease support to winxp/sp2 by around 2010.

Very steep prices. I thought Windows XP home @ Rs. 3500 itself was too steep for an OS.

I will wait atleast for an year and by the time microsoft would have released ServicePack1 for Vista and the OS would be ready for use....

In one year there will be more DX 10 cards.....more 3rd Party Softwares and many issues related to the OS might be fixed...and many more problems related to the OS will be addressed with Patches and Fixes.

Its safe to wait and watch and then go for the transformation.

hmmm... i don't know why the Home Basic costs 6k?? . Thats too high for an entry level OS.

Windows XP Home costs around 3k. These guys are ripping us off.

XP home or pro is still good enough for 2 years to come, by that time Vista SP1 will be out. So if u r paranoid about upgrading etc, wait for it

@ GX, thats right, I wouldn't think of upgrading to Vista if it weren't for Direct X 10. DX 10 won't run on XP. So a lot of Dx 10 games will run at their full glory only on Vista. Not to mention Vista exclusives like Halo 2.
