File Recovery software for linux

I need a software which can recover data from deleted partitions for FAT, EXT.
Please suggest ? Is it possible to recover data if i format ext3 partition as Fat32 ?

Test Disk / But I was searching for a GUI recovery for Linux.. test disk doesn't allow you to save image in any other place than /home

Once you fully format a partition to change its type, the data in it is completely erased.
