hi,

I'd like to convert my file system of WIN XP Pro from FAT32 to NTFS.
Since there's a lot of files in my system ( not in C: Drive) which I havn't backed up yet, I'm not planning a formating drives as NTFS.
So my request is :
is there any method to convert fat32 to ntfs without formating.

I really don't want to loss my data.

if this topic is discussed earlier in this pls provide me the relevant links.

thnx

In command prompt give following command:

CONVERT volume /FS:NTFS

Where, volume is the drive letter (followed by a colon).

But, as always, it is advisable to backup your data before conversion to avoid any chance of data loss...

With convert command given above, thing will work fine, no need to backup any data. Only you should make sure that when the PC restart and windows starts to change you file system to NTFS, then you should not face any electricity problem.
