A: 24 inch maybe 1600x900

A: I have liked the Phenom II X4 955 very much, maybe something around this processor
Or is an i3 intel for a similar price better?
Integrated graphics is for sure a must (don't want to spend money on graphics, don't need it)

jagdish, nice configuration buddy. But it does not include a display although I really doubt at this budget even a 19" LCD can be accomodate.

nccbster, you don't need a 24" display for 1600X900 resolution, you can get it at a 20" display. 24" displays normally come with 1920X1080 resolution and they are start from on an avg 9.5K and well above your budget.

So get Acer P206HQ 20" LCD display with 1600X900 resolution.

@OP: you acn go with the suggestion given by jagdish. But at you budget, as Cilus have already said, it almost impossible to accommodate even a 20" monitor. So, you should add some extra budget (at about 5-6K) to get a good monitor.
