Hi I had bought a Epson 645 brand new from US and took it with me to India where the AC power is 220V. I bought a converter 220V-110V. When I switched the printer on the first time, it took me to the setup screen. After I keyed in the setup details like language, date, time, etc. it displayed a message to install the cartridge for just 1 sec and then immediately restarted displaying the setup screen again. When I tried opening the scanner lid to install the cartridges, the cartridge cover does not move out of its slot to enable opening it.
One key thing that I noticed is that the LED in the 220-110 adapter flickers everytime the printer restarts. So is the converter the culprit or is something wrong with the printer itself? The converter I bought is for a 20W rating and the reason I got this is because the printer's spec sheet says its maximum power consumption is 16W. The power cable that came with the printer reads 7A/125V.
I really appreciate your inputs and suggestions in solving this.
