If you can get a i3 3220 you can also pair a 1600MHz frequency RAM with it.

Config seems to be similar to what I have in my Flipkart Wishlist, except for the k/b mouse combo...I'm more than comfortable using generic but reputed brands.

As for the memory, what would be better 2x2gb @1333Mhz(dual channel mode) OR 1x4gb @1600Mhz ?

Go with a single 4GB stick.You can always add more RAM later if you need.Also it would save you a RAM slot.
Dual channel RAM generally is only sightly faster than single channel RAM configuration.
In general applications at max one can get around ~5% from dual channel.i.e when comparing 2 RAM sticks in dual channel with another single stick RAM of same frequency,latency.

Go for 1600MHz RAM only if you pick ivy bridge i3 3220.

The Asus Board has multigpu support and with quicksync it can give some advantage with transcoding.Plus I sort OF trust Asus boards for quality and warranty.

APC 600VA UPS -2.2k
Will this UPS support my config, my PSU efficiency is 67%, keeping that into account my total power draw from the UPS comes to 533 Watts (352/.667). What should I do, Undeclock the GPU with MSI Afterburner (until I save money for a new UPS) OR connect the system directly to the mains with the powersurge protector

What about this memory how does fare with the vengeance :

For RAM take G.Skill RipjawsX(1600MHz)(F3-12800CL9S) 4GB.
Lucid virtu is required if you want to use quick sync,so that board is fine.

The total power that would be consumed by this rig at full load is around 270Watts(rough calculation..it might be a bit here and there).
As the efficiency of your PSU is somewhat low,it would require more AC power than that of the PSUs having higher efficiency
As far as APC 600VA RS 600 or APC Back UPS 600 (BR600CI-IN) is concerned it's rated max output is of 360Watts manufacture.
Lets say full load power consumed by components=270Watts
AC power required=270/0.67 =403Watts...Had the efficiency of PSU been 80% then AC power required would have been ~338Watts,which would have ensured back-up.
403Watts>360Watts
So at full load you might not be able to get any back-up.If the load is below 240Watts then you are sure to get back-up.
For general usage or when the PC is idle you can get good enough backup.
All these calculations were done assuming if UPS only powers the PC and not monitor,modem or any other peripheral device.

You can also look for APC Back UPS 700VA/420Watts (BE700Y-IN) which would be around 3.5k.
Microtek 1kVA is available for around 3.5k.The surge protectors in APC would be better than that in microtek.

Thanks, so does it mean that my UPS can supply more than 360 Watts when not on backup i.e when electricity is present.

If that's the case then it would hardly create a problem since power outage is rare where I stay. However what could I expect to happen when there's a power-out, will the UPS go kaput or simply cut-off ?

Since the PSU unit you have can supply as rated on it but is not as efficient as some other good 80+ units i.e.it requires more input power for the same load,I would say get a UPS which has more wattage.
The thing with APC 600VA is that it would be able to provide you back-up whenever the load is below 240Watts but higher than that the inverter circuit inside the UPS won't be able to power-up the system.If you power-up the peripherals through UPS then the load would be even more on the UPS.
Even though these UPS units have good protection circuits for overload voltages,still buy a UPS with better wattage.
You can get a Microtek 1kVA UPS with a good spike guard which would help in case of voltage surges.
