Electronic Passports. A Good move !

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will present electronic passports to President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Vice-President Hamid Ansari Wednesday, marking the introduction of the new scheme in India.

At last, our dear politicians decided to do something good. It will stop Passport forgery and a lot of other problems.
Nothing is perfect in this world and wrong doers will find some loop holes here too but it will far more secure than existing passport. What do you think?

It will take another 12 months for them to be available to the general public. BTW is there any clue about how many days will it take to avail a passport then?

Surely gonna take more time than it does these days with all those fingerprints etc being taken along with existing police verification etc.
Initially there will be more rush(hopefully ) so expect it to take even longer.
