i never wished my 100th post had be abt my dead dvd writer. tried it in real dos mode too. looks like the rom chip is at fault. well manufacturers must be providing fault tolerance or some other mechanism so that if a flash upgrade fails, it shud be able to restore restore its previous firmware. anyways what a sad end to a story.
BEWARE all of those who flash their drives, ur drive can be rendered useless.
anyway does anyone know how much time will it take to replace a drive? will i be given a new drive or a refurbished drive? thanks a lot.
