dvd rom not working

i have sony ddu1622 dvd rom it works fine in win2000 but when i use it in winxp it says I/O device error when i copy any file from dvd. i tried to use it on another system running win98 , it was detected in the bios but the windows does not detect it. can any one help me?

Maybe when u using in Win2000 you might have played priated DVD. Anyway try again using in Win2000 tell me if it work. SONY have problem playing priavted DVD's

No i have dvd combo and no problem with the pirates and sometimes it doesnot read. Might have problems with the written medis.

Go to the Sony Storage Support Site here and download the ASPI error fix patch. Also, download the latest ASPI drivers here. That should take care of the problem.
