Broken In
I have ASUS DVD Writter which I brought 2 years back. Now I have been getting some problem with it.

My DVD RW is detected as DVD RAM and I'm unable to write DVDs with software like Nero or any other.

This problem is only with Windows XP SP2 and SP3.

On my other partition, I have Windows Vista Ultimate installed. Now Vista detects it as DVD RW and I can write DVDs using Nero.

It was workin fine for 2 year, I have this problem only for last 1 month or so.

I have tried uninstalling DVD RW and Secondary IDE channels from Device Manager and restarting PC. But does not work. :-x :-x

Any solution?? Please!! Thanks in advance.:sad:

Firstly, a DVD RAM drive is said to be a drive which can read/write DVD-RAM discs along with DVD+-R and DVD+-RW, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, etc etc.

So there is NOTHING wrong with being detected as a DVD-RAM drive.

As for inability to write on windows xp, are you using an admin account or a limited user account ?
