i just got a new dv6 and i absolutely love it. but i have a small concern.

i am worried about its touch pad. I have seen my friends' laptops and their touch pads have become worn out at the centre. and while it doesnt have any effect on the usability of the laptop it doesnt look amazing.

what do you guys suggest i do to prevent this happening to my laptop? I guess my hp has a synaptics touchpad. are they replacable?

I think it won't happen as its having is a hard black plastic, non-painted touchpad. Or else, use a mouse :D

using a dv6846 for 3 years, there is NO wear or tear on the trackpad.

only the palmrests and the lower edges (where the wrist meets the body) are a bit worn, but the trackpad is as good as new.

Even my DV6's touch pad shows no signs of ageing since 3 years. Either its built well or its stealing the Olay cream off the shelf ;)
