Do i need to install GRUB?

I was having XP and Ubuntu FF running on my system...... today i just installed 2000 Pro.... After installing, Ubuntu has been gone inlcuding GRUB loader. Now i'm getting the same old boot list. Now what should i do... shall i install the GRUB or is there any other alternative way. and how to install GRUB from Ubuntu 7.04 Live CD

This is the first result on google, for reinstalling grub from ubuntu.

Windows always does this worst thing. Always when i installed windows after linux then MBR is overwritten and Grub is gone! To recover it in Redhat installs we use this, insert the boot cd then type 'linux rescue' (without quotes) and type the following:

grub-install /dev/hda
