Difference in Price but not Quality

Hii all,
I have been planning to buy a laptop for quite some time. I want to buy a laptop that i can use to play (new)games at good settings. So, i had planned to buy a laptop for about 60-65k so have been trying to save money for it(and probably can buy one till January).
The question i want to ask is, what i have noticed is that from 55k to 65 or 70k laptops their is not much difference in hardware, and as i want to play game on it i don't see much difference in the graphics cards of the laptops, the difference commes only in Procc., HDD and RAM so i want to know is that wether their is any benifit of spending 65k or 70k on something which i can get at 55-60k.
Thankx.

Believe Me or Not!!!
Actually the price hike is mainly the result of increased reliability of product.
A 70k laptop may not give a big boost in gaming, in comparision with a 50k laptop. But the reliability of product do increase appreciably.

Some hardware too get better with price like 5400rpm HDD increase to a decent 7200rpm one :)

For gaming the main concern shud be a good GPU, processor and RAM comes just after it...

And sorry I got no laptop for gaming under my knowledge :-(, thats pretty outdated of me :-D

Thankx, NainO and i understand what do you mean by "And sorry I got no laptop for gaming under my knowledge :-(, thats pretty outdated of me" ;) .But i can't carry a desktop everywhere i go(as i am not staying staying at my home).
And as far as components manufacturer goes they are mostly same(so the reliabilty is almost same), though their are some diff. in config.(and as you pointed out about the HDD(and its a great diff.)) and yes their is difference in the built quality but do you think it justifies the increase of 15-20k??

Thankx

If gaming is the main concern, i dont think this price difference is acceptable...
Its not like 50k laptops are poorly built...

Moreover by increasing the budget by 15-20k, the gaming experience is not gonna increase with same ratio...

Sadly true gaming laptops cost > 1 lakh like alienware...

Thankx NainO for your reply i wanted to ask this only. I don't have never owned a laptop so don't have much knowledge about its ruggedness.
The sad thing about all this is in India these laptops cost like hell if you buy the same from US you will get it much cheaper :( .

Have a look at MSI GX640. Priced at around 63k, it comes 5850M GPU. Build quality is also decent and carries 2 year warranty. Not a bad choice IMO.

I sold my laptop for a pc. A 60k pc is 5 times more powerful than a 60k laptop. I'm not a girl or an old man who cannot carry his things around. a netbook is best for portability and a desktop is best for gaming.
My advice, get a cheap netbook and build a pc with the rest of the money.

Thankx harry for your reply and suggesting a lappy, I will definitely ask for more help from you all when i will decide my budget an extra 10k will delay my laptop for about a month :( . And does MSI GX640 really cost around 63k??

@ Gollum
"I'm not a girl or an old man"

Nor am I . Its just that i live in rented flat, so have to carry it whenever i have to change flat or would have to carry it(PC) whenever have to move a different location(city) so i don't want to take this headache.(And by the way i have a very nice PC at my (real)home :D).

Thankx.

If harry's info is correct, then its a good choice for a gaming laptop cuz it has hd5850 as GPU.
This GPU is one of the most powerful GPU available on laptops, its even capable if running many games at 1920*1080 resolution. And its review is pretty decent too.

Moreover i google searched this laptop, and i think it has two varients - both hav 5850 but
one has DDR3 memory
another has GDDR5 memory
Add to your knowledge that GDDR5 is better.

Thankx NainO,
yes it would be great if this laptop comes at this price the only difficulty would be of getting a hand on it(avaliability) and the after sale service(of MSI).

and again, thankx harry for giving the info about this sys. i never knew 5850 existed in India at such a price :).

Thankx.

MSI laptops are easily available at Nehru Place, Delhi. And I have heard that MSI ppl are working on improving the warranty services.

And no need to say thanks buddy, thats what we are here for :).

Definitely you all are, and thankx(its a way i can show appretiation for your help) for that :) .
I know that MSI or for that matter any brand(in India) is avaliable at Nehru Place but right now i am at Ahmedabad and have to give a thorough search(if i decide to buy an MSI or Asus).
Probably i will start a thread anywhere around Dec to ask for all of your(Digitian's) opinion for the laptop.
The MSI one here is great for gaming but i read it gets heated very soon and that too to very high temps (GPU to around 107 C :0 ). And creates too much noise too(though its not of much concern). Anyways will surely ask u all for your opinion once i decide the budget(75% decided). And if by any chance could narrow down to few models.

MSI has around 10 gaming laptops in their bag.
So you have a great deal of choices to make, you can choose any laptop according to your budget(to be decided as you say :)) and requirement.

And about overheating stuff, a laptop cooler can be purchased in 1-1.5k. And they perform well in keeping a laptop cool :)
