Dell Studio 15 Display Inverter and DVD Writer Problem

Hi Guys,

I've this problem with my Dell Studio 15 (warranty expired) display where when the machine starts the Dell logo flashes for a fraction of a second and then goes black. I can see fine with external monitor.

I asked a local technician and it seems the problem is with the display inverter. He says it'll cost me around 2.7k. I wish to know how much a Display inverter costs usually? Also how much service charge usually someone takes for this service?

Secondly my machine is not reading any discs too. "Insert Disc" alert is displayed and the discs are getting ejected out. What would be the reason? Also, if nothing works any idea how much a new internal DVD writer costs?

I would suggest to get your laptop repaired from dell not from local vendors @4-4.5k.. and rather go for external writer..google it for price

Buy Dell complete cover for 1 year @ 4.5k and get it repaired. If your writer is having problems too, it should be covered under new warrenty.
