OS also is of no concern i usually use Kubuntu with full effects enabled.. both are same priced ~34K or is there some better config available ?

as sandy bridge is delayed :sad: i need to buy before this month end ...

general use. just don't want laptop to become obsolete in next 3-4 years if some win 8 etc comes up which requires more graphics etc ..

It could have been better if you'd suggested your budget. The HD 5470 is defiately better than Intel HD graphics but don't expect to do wonders. I'd recommend that you spend 2-3k more & get the Inspiron 15R with 1GB ATI HD 550v.

budget is no issue i can extend till 40k, 550v is no doubt better than 5470 but since its based on old technology (and not 45nm like 5470) it will consume more battery and produce more heat which can cause issues ......
