dataone problem

i hav a problem with my dataone connection......that i am not able to use mozilla firefox or other browsers other than internet explorer....besides it i cant access rediff bol,yahoomessener like messeger....but googletalk,skype are finely working....i think the problem is with the connection settings of the respective softwares.... i dont know the connection setting of firefox in this dataone broadband connection.....when i click the 'go' button in the firefox it is simply showing a blank page.... in yahoo messenger and rediffbol when i sign in its keep showing 'connecting'......(it is not signing in just showing connecting)i am using windows 2000 proffesional.......i tried many ways to solve these problems....but i cant....so pls help me to solve this....kindly tell me te connection settings for all these softwares

Do you use any Firewall? Zone Alarm or Kerio are strong firewalls that need to be configured for many applications before they can connect to the internet.
Also, which type of connection do you use? Is it Pure Bridged or PPPoE?
Please provide some more details so that we can help you better..

I suppose u were using dial-up before.

this happened with me.
I know few things..

1) rediff bol
when u r connected..open it...settings menu....connection settings...then in the first section..click on TEST..

then try checking/unchecking the option of use IE settings..and then try to sign in again....
I did this and rediffbol prob was solved.

2) yahoo msger

open msger...then in msger menu...click on connection preferences...see the selections are proper or not.

3)firefox
in tools menu..select options ......open general tab....select connection settings...and postt what u see there..........I wasnt having prob with FF so dont know actually.
